What does Dwolla do?
Dwolla allows you to send or receive money online for 25 cents per transaction.
How are they different?
There is no interchange fee. Dwolla is built on our own proprietary payment network. Our platform was designed to benefit from our API to communicate with other software.
Why could Dwolla be BIG?
There is no internet version of cash like there is a retail environment. There is no unified way to electronically exchange funds for consumers/businesses that bypass the traditional interchange fee. We built a solution to a $40B+ dollar problem.
Our platform is built to take advantage of the API and it’s interaction with outside web sites and applications.
Dwolla’s platform is low cost and versatile. It is designed to integrate easily with major shopping carts and social networks.
How they plan to make money:
1. A free promotional tool that has options to purchase additional exposure.
2. Provide professional paid installation services for our API to merchants wanting to offer our payment option.
3. An enterprise paid service built on our free application. This will be introduced at the end of Y1.
