What does Yapta do?
Yapta (short for Your Amazing Personal Travel Assistant) is a free website that allows travelers to select their ideal flights or hotels, then track the airfare or hotel prices and be alerted via email when the price drops or falls within a desired spending limit.
Yapta can also track the price of your flight even AFTER you’ve booked your ticket and it will alert you when you’re eligible for a refund from your airline.
How are they different?
No other airfare or hotel rate tracking service allows you to track pricing on a specific flight or hotel property. Most other alert services only notify you when there’s a cheap flight between two given cities, regardless of whether it’s a red-eye with three stops. Yapta allows you to pick the flights or hotels that you want, and alerts you when they drop in price.
Why could Yapta be BIG?
Since the launch of Yapta in May 2007, the service has alerted more than 850,000 travelers to more than $350 million in travel savings. In today’s economy where everyone is looking for a deal on travel, this type of savings is tremendous.
How they plan to make money:
Yapta makes money through targeted display and email advertising, as well as premium service offerings.
Our thoughts:
No thoughts at the moment. Very interesting!

I have used YAPTA for years and they’ve really come in handy with getting me vouchers for airline flights when they become lower. What a GREAT startup!
