What does Xtreme Labs do?
Xtreme Labs is a strategic mobile consulting and development firm that creates applications for a wide range of mobile, web, and computer platforms. Based in Toronto, Canada Xtreme Labs has grown from 2 to 50 people in less than two years, and has made 50+ innovative products.
Xtreme Labs has been involved with the development of many successful and award winning applications. We were involved in the creation of the Intermap iPhone application, which won the Apple Design Award for Best iPhone 3.0 Beta application in 2009. In addition, for BlackBerry, we’ve been involved in major campaigns, such as UrbanSpoon, Match.com, QuickBooks, and others. Our successes on Android include Dictionary.com, which achieved over 100,000 downloads within the first 72 hours.
How are they different?
Xtreme Labs is dedicated to scouting out, and recruiting the best talent available. The Xtreme Labs team is an amazing group of cutting-edge developers and business leaders with extensive experience in the computer hardware and software industry. Previous (and current) employees have come from such prominent companies as Cisco, Trilogy, Microsoft, ATI Technologies, Morgan Stanely, EA, Google, etc.
In addition to the full-time employees, Xtreme Labs works with various universities to recruit co-ops each semester. Each co-op student is paired with a full-time employee where they have the chance to mix the most current, innovative trends with experience, skill and technical support.
Xtreme Labs is not just a mobile/web app development company, they also offer consulting services.
Why could Xtreme Labs be BIG?
Xtreme Labs already has the financing, connections, and skilled people that would enable it to make it BIG. Part of Xtreme Labs’ financing comes from the Venture Capital company Extreme Venture Partners. This fund is made up of a dynamic team of individuals who have spent years in the financial and technology sectors of our economy (http://www.extremevp.com/people/). Not only do the Labs benefit from their expertise, they also receive the benefit of influential contacts made over the years.
