What does Sharperoo do?
With over 1 million profiles of contractors throughout the United States, Sharperoo is the leading online directory of contractors throughout the United States. Homeowners who visit Sharperoo have free and open access to public data on contractors, community-driven reviews and information that the contractors themselves have provided. For contractors, Sharperoo provides a quick and easy way to create and grow a Web presence. Through the freely available tools on Sharperoo, contractors can easily create and share information about their businesses and work they have done.
How are they different?
When it comes to finding contractors today, homeowners have a few choices: they can pay for a subscription to Angies List, allow themselves to be sold as a lead to the contractors who pay for Service Magic or basically crapshoot it in Craigs List or Google. We are taking a different approach: by providing data for free and encouraging users to comment, we are in the process of building a completely open and free service where homeowners can rate and find contractors in their neighborhoods.
Why could Sharperoo be BIG?
Primarily because of the fact that there are over 70 million homeowners in the US today who are all faced with the same problem – how to find good, professional help. Additionally, there are over 2 million contractors in the US, making it one of the largest SMB segments in the United States.
How they plan to make money:
By offering premium services and sponsored placement to contractors who will pay a monthly fee that ranges between $19 – $99 per month.
