What does Power2Switch do?
Power2Switch offers a web-based portal that allows commercial electricity customers to seamlessly compare and switch electricity suppliers for the purpose of saving money on their electricity costs and assessing renewable energy.
How are they different?
Power2switch enables full contract completion via the Internet and shortens the processing time from days (through traditional brokerage methods) to minutes. We also provide analytics and insight to both the customers (utilizing their historic data that we automatically retrieve from market Databases) and the suppliers (providing predictive analytics for better price forecasting).
Why could Power2Switch be BIG?
The service can be provided in 15 retail electricity states in the US (with possibility to move into other states), we are rolling out a gas price comparison platform (for all US states) and are currently working on data analytics packages for smart meters.
How they plan to make money:
We currently charge the suppliers a monthly commission per kWh of usage (for the life of a contract) for every customer who switches their service through Power2Switch. We also charge for reports and analytics providing market insight to the suppliers.
