What does Postabon do?
Postabon is a community that encourages users to share discount recommendations at brick and mortar locations. Users have posted 3,500 active deals in New York city ranging from $20 off-broadway tickets to J. Crew Sample Sales to complimentary open bars to $75 3-course meals with unlimited wine at a steakhouse.
How are they different?
Postabon takes a community approach to finding great values around us. This not only allows the company to generate a lot of ideas (350/square mile in New York), but identify and curate some really great content. For example, last week one of our most popular deals posted by a user was a Starbucks frappuchino happy hour.
Why could Postabon be BIG?
People care about finding great value! The “local discount” market is highly fragmented and it’s difficult for users to find good deals that are relevant for them. The community approach allows us to filter for quality and serve stuff that each user care about but wouldn’t have found on their own.
How they plan to make money:
Select merchants can use the Postabon platform to make direct offers to members based on their preferences. Postabon splits revenue with merchants in a similar way to collective buying companies.
Our thoughts:
No thoughts at the moment. Very interesting!
