What does More than Mushrooms do?
We publish an online magazine, aimed at vegetarians, vegans and anyone interested in vegetarian & ethical lifestyle issues.
How are they different?
The magazine is free for anyone to read and we are online only.
Why could More than Mushrooms be BIG?
The number of vegetarians has doubled in the UK over the last 10 years & there are now around 3 million vegetarians. In addition, there are many more people who do not see themselves as vegetarian but who actively choose to eat vegetarian meals for at least part of the week. Add to this the number of health-scares associated with the meat & dairy industry in recent years and it’s easy to see why the interest in vegetarianism, and ‘meat-reducing’, is growing.
In terms of choosing to publish online, with more & more readers using electronic devices to read e-books, we think that this is the way forward for magazines too. None of us are particularly happy to pay for content on the web however, so free magazines will be the future.
And what’s more, with e-magazines we’re saving paper & helping the environment!
