What does GreenSoul Shoes do?
I have co-founded a company called GreenSoul Shoes, which is a social enterprise where our mission is to shoe underprivileged children around the world in a sustainable fashion. We do this by working with local artisans from developing nations to produce a 100% up-cycled sandal (that is a sandal that is entirely made out of rubber tires and inner tubes with no staples, pins or glues). For each one that we sell, we give one away to an underprivileged child in need in that same community. Our goal is to shoe 1 million children in five years.
How are they different?
Sandals made out of recycled product; social enterprise to help local economies, and local children.
Why could GreenSoul Shoes be BIG?
By not changing American behavior, we can help put a dent in the world’s 300 million underprivileged children without shoes – and help them remove rubber tires from their communities in the process.
How they plan to make money:
We have already won 6 business plan competitions to give us seed capital. Furthermore, we currently sell our recycled sandals for $45 and we will be introducing many other recycled products in the coming weeks. This has become a hot item because it is as ecological as it is charitable – and all for under $50 bucks!
Our thoughts:
No thoughts at the moment. Very interesting!
