How are they different?
Freebinar is the first and only completely free webinar service offering up to 150 attendees per meeting and unlimited hosting and length of meeting. All of the existing free web conferencing services have limits of 20 attendees per meeting and primarily use their free offering as an up-sell to their premium plans. In addition, Freebinar offers turn‐key webinar service, delivered as a SaaSBrowser based with no client downloads or installs. The ultimate goal is to offer unlimited meeting sizes.
Why could Freebinar be BIG?
With no direct competitors in the free webinar service space, Freebinar is able to capture a new niche and be a first mover. The web conferencing market is a growth industry with a lot of opportunity still ahead. The market processed approximately $1.5B in 2009 and has been growing consistently with a CAGR of 17%, with an expected $4.5B market by 2014.
How they plan to make money:
Freebinar would make money through online advertising. Webinars provide captive audiences for 1 hour, with an average of 40 attendees per meeting. One vertical ad, rotating every 30 seconds would have 120 ad views per attendee, per webinar.
The average CPM would be $5. Adify Networks shows a median eCPM was $6.04, with a minimum of $1.50 and a maximum of over $10 and increased targeting will grow CPM rate.
