getting started entrepreneur resources

These are our hand picked recommendations for entrepreneurs just starting out. We have used each of these services personally (and in many cases tried their competitors) and fully recommend them based on our experiences.

If you have any additional suggestions, we welcome any

1) Incorporate.com - If you need some assitance wading through the complicated process of incorporating your new business, or simply want some reassurance on something so important, we recommend Incorporate.com. They handle the entire process for a few hundred dollars including registration fees. In our opinion, not a bad bargain.

2) LegalZoom - While Legalzoom certainly doesnt replace a startup-focused law firm (which, by the way is a very important part of the early process), they are great at handling other minor legal issues such as trademarks. Again, it's relatively inexpensive, and for minor tasks they are worth every penny.

3) Vistaprint - Vistaprint, in our opinion, is essential for any cash-strapped startup. They will handle all of your printing needs at an exceptionally good rate, including offering free business cards. We've done entire orders - thousands of cards, brochures, T-shirt, etc. for less than $200 combined.

4) Constant Contact - Every company should have an email newsletter campaign to their customers/users(ours is coming soon, so don't worry). Even if you're small and only have a dozen clients, there is no better way to keep in touch than with CC's professional email newsletters. They are even offering free (limited) accounts. Definitely sign up today if you don't have one.

5) Godaddy - We assume you probably have your hosting under control, but in case you don't Godaddy is a great, inexpensive service as well. Not much else to say - good service at a really great price.

6) TemplateMonster - The first thing that most startups do is create their website, and we've found through much trial and error that it's almost always better to purchase a professional template and build the rest around it. And as far as templates go, TemplateMonster is one of the best. Huge selectiona and great prices.

7) PrWeb - Regardless of whether you plan on using press releases often or hardly at all, you should consider doing at least one or two early on at milestone events (launch, product releases, etc). One of the best ways to do that is using PRWeb. For a few hundred dollars, you'll get a wide audience to distriubute your release to, and it's certainly a good middle-step until you can hire a full-fledged PR firm.
