What does Check-In Calls, LLC do?

Check-In Calls was created to help lessen loneliness for the elderly. We provide reminder calls, check-ins, companionship calls (story sharing, discussion of news & current events, book reading), concierge services (arrange transportation, order gifts and have them delivered, write out and send greeting cards, etc.) and we build personal memoirs. Subscriptions — including video calls — start at just $29/month, an affordable alternative to in-home companionship visits!

How are they different?

1) Live calls (vs. automated, pre-recorded.)
2) Much less expensive than in-home companion visits.
3) Services–that aid the elderly and provide peace of mind for their adult children/caregivers–include check-ins/reminders, companionship, concierge services, and memoir creation. The commonality among all services is the live, caring calls that our clients enjoy.
4) A business model built around optimizing the internet’s functionality to streamline business processes and keep costs down. All backend tasks that can be done online are; yet, the important client interface is always live and personal.

Why could Check-In Calls, LLC be BIG?

This concept has the potential to become BIG because an increasing elderly cohort living longer coupled with time-constrained caregivers makes for an opportunity “sweet spot” for businesses that can help both growing populations.

* “In 2003, 35.8 million Americans were older than 65; this year, 36.1 million will be older than 65. By 2022, the number will reach 57.5 million.

* An estimated 44 million Americans—accounting for 21 percent of all U.S. households—regularly care for an elderly relative or friend. Family and friends provide an estimated 80 percent of senior care.

* Approximately two million women are part of the sandwich generation, caring for children and parents simultaneously.

How they plan to make money:

1. Provide the Check-In Calls suite of services to seniors primarily subscribed to by their adult children/caregivers (time-constrained dual-income couples)
2. Expand website to include sales of living aids for seniors who wish to remain in their own homes (aging in place trend).
3. Affiliate with other non-competitive senior-oriented product and service providers, i.e., durable medical equipment providers, in-home safety products, in-home visit providers, etc.
4. Approach large employers to provide (free or discounted) Check-In Calls services as an employee benefit (Caregiving Employees’ health problems can cost U.S. companies $13.4 Billion Yearly)
5. Continue the Check-In Calls social media campaign (ElderCaring Blog, FaceBook Page, Twitter) to provide free resources and support for Caregivers to expand awareness and increase trust in the brand.

No thoughts at the moment. Very interesting!

What a wonderful concept. This service would have been a life saver
for me when my Mom became more dependent on me. Just caring people, besides myself, checking in on her with care and concern.

I would certainly recommend this program….. and would most likely use it if and when necessary.

With elderly parents living in another state, I wish this would have been available when they were in their own home. They might have been able to delay going into a senior residence. Great idea!
