What does Americas Got Product do?
AGP is a site designed to promote jobs in America and the products made by Americans. The purpose of the site is to stimulate sales of American made goods through social media channels using a Youtube contest with a $100,000 cash prize, (funded by sponsors) to stimulate user generated content that will be promoted through Facebook, Twitter and of course YouTube.
Contestants, employees and members of the community (where the goods are manufactured) will utilize social and traditional media channels to promote the videos to win the prize, stimulate sales and create jobs.
How are they different?
This site will draw traffic from three sources; consumers interested in the contest, consumers looking for products and consumers interested in the cause of building a sustainable US economy. Traffic will be user generated with little optimization expense as the contestants and manufacturers forward and promote the videos for both the prize and sales of the products featured in each YouTube.
We are not just selling products but selling America and promoting a platform for Americans to get involved in our economic recovery. AGP will not only be fun but help stimulate the two missing components in our recovery, spending and jobs and catch the attention of the media and politicians.
Why could Americas Got Product be BIG?
This is the most important issue in our nation and a new twist on the bad news in our economy which does not include politics. We will focus on the companies that currently manufacture in America, both foreign and domestic, stimulate sales for these goods and create demand that other companies will follow with new jobs when economically feasible.
This is something that traditional media will want to participate in creating possible partners to help promote the contest and site with one of the major networks and possible print outlets.
How they plan to make money:
AGP will attract contest sponsors to fund the prize, marketing and operations. The site will produce additional adverting revenue on pages that will hold the product content for consumers looking for goods they can buy to keep more dollars in America and create jobs with their spending.
The site will catalogue every product made in America and as the consumer narrows their search to women’s jeans for example, advertisers will have ad placements targeting this customers needs.
Our thoughts:
Certainly enough of a cash prize to attract plenty of entrants. Only question would be is if it will continue as a regular competition, or just a one time event?
