FairCareMD.com - Where Doctors and Patients can agree on prices that are fair to both Logo Company FairCare LLC
http://www.FairCareMD.com
Founded: 11/16/2009
City: New York, New York
Country: United States
CEO: Alex B. Fair
Founders: Alex Fair, Kathleen Acer, Ph.D.
Category: Other Funding: Self-Funded
Tags: healthcare, medical, dental, prices, shopping, bidding, deals, healthcare, disruptive Employees: 6-15

What does FairCare LLC do?

FairCareMD allows patients paying for their own medical or dental care to request and contract for services directly with local Physicians and Dentists. They can either request help finding a doctor for a service they need or select from the doctors in the system already.

Doctors can also list their services with prices for direct-paying patients and allow patients to request even better prices through an automated matching system.

With verified reviews, great content, and fair price assistance, FairCareMD allows patients and Doctors to connect and create great relationships.

How are they different?

Our system is extremely disruptive to the healthcare and dental pricing systems that hide fair prices from patients. If you have ever looked at your Explanation of Benefits from your insurance company you can easily see that they pay only a fraction of what you would pay if you walked into the doctor’s office and said you were paying directly. This is fair to neither doctors nor patients. FairCareMD seeks to correct this problem by cutting out the middle man and letting doctors and patients contract quickly and directly.

We also offer our Verified Offering Review system that only allows real patients to review their doctors and lets the doctor moderate up to 25% of the comments (more than that and they are removed from the system).

Finally, our system allows providers and patients to give and get care how they want to, not how some corporation wants it to be performed. With doctors and patients in control, medicine is changing on FairCareMDs. People are developing new paradigms for care, cloning them, and changing them daily.

Why could FairCare LLC be BIG?

More people are shopping for care in the US than even and with no good marketplace, and more doctors opting out of insurance plan participation, FairCareMD fills this need just in time.

We also have designed the system to work well in other countries and for other professions.

We believe FairCareMD is the healthcare reform we all can use today. For the 46 million Americans uninsured, the 49 million with high deductible insurance plans, and the 150 million without dental insurance, FairCareMD will reduce costs significantly AND get doctors paid better. This is because it cuts the middlemen out and renders them obsolete.

How they plan to make money:

Initially we are charging providers small subscriptions and advertising. Later we will allow for sponsored listings. Finally, we will pursue an agency transaction model that allows patients to pay though our payment processing systems.

Our thoughts:

No thoughts at the moment. Very interesting!

Webalo.com – Enterprise-to-Mobile Without the Coding, Waiting, or Cost.

Posted by admin On June - 29 - 2010
webalo.com - Enterprise-to-mobile without the coding, waiting, or cost. Logo Company Webalo, Inc.
http://www.webalo.com
Founded: 2001
City: Los Angeles, California
Country: United States
CEO: Peter Price
Founders: Peter Price, Seth Bruder
Category: Mobile (Other) Funding: VC
Tags: enterprise to mobile Employees: 16-30

What does Webalo, Inc. do?

Webalo connects smartphones — securely, bi-directionally, and transactionally — to enterprise data and functionality without the need for coding, SDKs, or ICEs. Instead of spending money on software development tools, learning how to use them, paying to maintain them, waiting weeks or months for highly paid developers to write custom programs, Webalo can be configured in hours to connect any enterprise applications, even from multiple vendors, into a simple set of smartphone menus. Those menus use the standard UI of their BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone/iPad, Palm, Symbian, or Java-enabled device to take users directly to the content they need.

How are they different?

Speed and simplicity set Webalo apart. As a service that’s available in a hosted environment or as a virtual machine inside a firewall, startup can be immediate, and each step in the configuration process incorporates instructions so that connections can be created without investing significant time in learning. As an example, one customer sourced, tried, configured, and deployed Webalo for 350 employees in four days, and the actual configuration/deployment step took only 12 hours.

Why could Webalo, Inc. be BIG?

Corporations are eager to extend their enterprise resources to mobile employees. The time, cost, and complexity of such projects using traditional mobile application development techniques makes them prohibitive. Yet, using Webalo, all of those enterprise-to-mobile goals become feasible because there’s no coding to do, no new applications to develop and maintain, no new tools to learn and support, and virtually no delay when modifications have to be made. Employees will be able to interact with the enterprise from any smartphone, be productive within days, and their enterprise-to-mobile capabilities can always be current with business needs because changes can be handled, as one customer said, “by one guy when he’s got a minute.”

How they plan to make money:

The current sales model is subscription based using a per user fee structure.

Appsense.com - THe Leading Provider of User Virtualization Logo Company AppSense
http://www.appsense.com
Founded: 1999
City: New York, New York
Country: United States
CEO: Charles Sharland
Founders: Charles Sharland
Category: Other Funding: VC
Tags: user virtualization, user profile management, virtual desktop, terminal services, terminal server, citirx, vmware, xendesktop, xenapp Employees: Over 100

What does AppSense do?

AppSense is the leading provider of user virtualization technology to enterprise organizations. User virtualization is a way of managing user-specific information independent of the desktop, and applying this information into any desktop (local install, virtualized, published, streamed etc) on-demand. This enables IT to standardize the desktop build, automate desktop and application delivery, and migrate users to new desktops – all while ensuring the user experience is seamless, personal, predictable and easily manageable.
AppSense technology is used around the world by companies such as JPMorgan Chase, Lowes, United Airlines, Wachovia and ESPN.

How are they different?

AppSense Environment Manager is the only enterprise solution on the market that enables standardized virtual desktop environments to be fully and automatically personalized “on demand”, without cumbersome profiles or scripts. It uniquely decouples corporate policy and personalization data from the desktop, manages them independently and applies them to user devices on-demand.

Why could AppSense be BIG?

With the rise in desktop virtualization, enterprises are looking for technologies that allow them to achieve the greatest ROI. AppSense technology does this by enabling enterprises to receive all of the benefits of desktop virtualization. Specifically, AppSense Environment Manager enables low-cost, standard desktop images to be used to deliver fully configured and personalized desktops to all employees. This ensures maximum user adoption from a standard base image, further reducing desktop management cost, as well the complexity and risk associated with maintaining a large desktop estate.

How they plan to make money:

AppSense plans to make money by selling their software. In 2009, AppSense had a dramatic increase in sales in the south central and southeast regions in the US over the past year, with significant growth in the company’s historically key industries, which included financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and education, along with newer areas of growth such as government.

What does Multimedia Online Services, Inc do?

Moozone – cloud based online music storage. It’s also a digital music store and a social network.

How are they different?

First of all, we differ from all other music storage services by offer a unique user experience. We go beyond being a simple storage service. We’re also a digital music store, where our users can be music in high quality, and a social network that helps our users recommend and discover new music.

Second of all, our primary focus is mobile devices. We intend to develop apps for all popular mobile OS (like Symbian for example that tends to be overlooked but accounts for over 50% of global smartphone market)

Our Android Application, which was released in January 2010, has some interesting technical solution that makes it the best streaming application for Android (disk caching, save box, direct upload, native support for OGG etc).

Why could Multimedia Online Services, Inc be BIG?

Everything goes into the cloud. We believe soon enough local storage will lose its dominance. A lot of companies have realized that and are offering different remote storage solutions today. Our primary focus is music, because music consumption experience needs to be rich. Users require a lot of tools and product quality. That’s what Moozone offers today.

How they plan to make money:

We currently are making money from 3 products: storage sales, digital music sales, paid apps for smart phones. In the future we intend to make money from ads on mobile platforms.

Ringio.com – Better Business With Every Call

Posted by admin On June - 29 - 2010
ringio.com - Better Business With Every Call Logo Company Ringio
http://www.ringio.com
Founded: April 2009
City: Herndon, District of Columbia
Country: United States
CEO: Michael Zirngibl – Co-Founder & Chairman
Founders: Sam Aparicio – Co-Founder & CEO, Ashish Soni – Co-Founder, CTO & President
Category: Communications Funding: Seed/Friends & Family
Tags: Employees: 6-15

What does Ringio do?

Ringio is the first cloud-based rich calling service that intelligently delivers calls together with the background information needed to best interact with that caller.

The company’s mission is to help small and medium-sized businesses become more efficient in identifying and handling their most valuable phone conversations through an affordable, easy to use telephony solution.

How are they different?

When it comes to taking calls, today’s small business suffers from a disconnect. Firms that invest much time, energy and resources into effectively crafting their sales or marketing proposition often find their representatives “winging it” as they interact with callers.

Employees may know who’s attempting to reach them, but not necessarily why. They don’t know which of their calls is most critical or what information they need to answer callers’ questions.

Where large companies have teams of customer service reps, scripts and screen pops to guide them through a day full of phone calls, small businesses employees are left in a constant state of frustration, facing what can seem like a never-ending stream of interruptions.

Why could Ringio be BIG?

For the first time, Ringio’s service allows small business users to make well-informed decisions and resolve issues quickly, saving both users and callers valuable time.

Users are able to improve customer care and follow-up, and ultimately, to show callers they are a priority.

How they plan to make money:

Ringio is priced starting at $99 per month for four users; additional lines are $25 per month.
